Karnal, Sept. 17 -- A man was killed while his son was injured after their two-wheeler collided head-on with a speeding Scorpio near Bastara toll plaza on National Highway-44 in Karnal on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Jaffer, 35, a native of Meerut, who died on the spot; his 15-year-old son was seriously injured. According to the information, the Scorpio was travelling from Panipat to Karnal and an Ertiga SUV was ahead of it. Eyewitnesses said that as soon as the Scorpio reached the Bastara toll, it hit the Ertiga from behind and then collided head-on with the scooty coming from the wrong side. Sub-inspector Lachhman Singh of Madhuban police station said the SUV driver fled the scene and efforts are being made to arrest him....
