Man held for cheating woman in scooter deal
Ludhiana, Aug. 7 -- A 47-year-old woman has accused a man of cheating, sexually harassing and threatening her after he allegedly sold her a scooter without disclosing the outstanding loan. Police have arrested the accused following the complaint.
The accused, Gursharan Singh, a resident of Chuharpur village, has been booked under Sections 75 (sexual harassment), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. According to the complainant, she purchased a scooter from the accused for Rs.50,000 after paying the full amount upfront. She told police that a few months later, two men claiming to be bank officials arrived at her house and took the scooter away. They informed her that the vehicle had been financed and that the loan instalments had not been cleared.
