Main accused held in P'kula nightclub shooting case
Panchkula, Sept. 18 -- Police on Wednesday arrested the main accused in connection with the firing incident that took place on September 13 at the Alif Laila Nightclub in Sector 11. The accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh, alias Kaku, a resident of Firozpur district, Punjab, and was apprehended from Kharar, Punjab. The police presented the accused in court and secured a 6-day police remand for thorough interrogation. During the remand, police recovered a Zigana pistol used in the crime, 8 live cartridges, and the XUV 500 vehicle used for escaping.
Three other accomplices-Lakhbir Singh alias Lucky, Gurpreet, and Karanjit Singh, all from Firozpur-were arrested earlier and are also undergoing intensive questioning. A case had been registered under strict sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act at Sector-5 police station. htc...
