Mohali, July 20 -- The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has stepped up preparations for its next major residential project by initiating the land acquisition process for Eco City-4 in New Chandigarh. GMADA has begun acquiring 526 acres for the proposed township, covering land in the villages of Kartarpur, Rajgarh, Kansala and Boothgarh. Hearings for affected landowners have been scheduled for August 5 and 6 as part of the statutory acquisition process. This comes even as the launch of Eco City-3 remains awaited. Although land acquisition and other administrative formalities for Eco City-3 are progressing, the authority has yet to announce an official launch date. According to a public notice issued by GMADA, hearings on claims and objections relating to the Eco City-4 land acquisition will be conducted in the respective villages. Once these proceedings are completed, the authority will move forward with the acquisition process, paving the way for the commencement of development work....
