Chandigarh, June 25 -- A special court camp organised by the ministry of labour and employment at the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) office in Manimajra, settled 10 of 14 pending wage-related cases on the spot. The camp, headed by regional labour commissioner (central) Jaspreet Bedi Khurana, was held to expedite cases under the Payment of Wages Act, 1936. A total of Rs.2.26 lakh was disbursed directly to affected workers. During the camp, officials also sensitised RVNL management and contractors about compliance with labour laws and the importance of timely wage payments.
