Inducted 2 Congress leaders, says AAP
Chandigarh, Sept. 14 -- The Chandigarh unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday said it had inducted Congress block president Vinay Mishra and district secretary Ajay Sharma, along with their supporters, into the party. The Congress, however, said Mishra had been expelled from the party a day earlier and replaced as block president by Inder Pal. In a statement, the AAP said the joining programme was held under the leadership of Anandpur Sahib MP Malvinder Singh Kang and AAP Chandigarh president Vijay Pal Singh.
Chandigarh Congress president HS Lucky said Mishra had been removed as Congress block president and expelled from the party on Saturday. "Party worker Inder Pal has been appointed the new block president for Ward 7," he said.
"If the AAP is describing Mishra as a Congress block president while inducting him, it is merely an attempt to mislead the public. The AAP's support base in Chandigarh has been wiped out. The party is now trying to create confusion among people by inducting individuals whose political ambitions have not been fulfilled in the Congress," Lucky said. The municipal corporation elections are expected to be held in December....
