HPCL to expand ops in Punjab: Govt
Chandigarh, June 2 -- The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) would expand its operations in Punjab with an increase in its investments in refinery, biofuel and biogas sectors, the state government stated on Monday.
A press release mentioned that HPCL chairman Vikas Kaushal held a meeting with chief minister Bhagwant Mann during which the CM highlighted Punjab's robust infrastructure, strategic location, investor-friendly policies and transparent governance framework. The CM also apprised the HPCL delegation about the state's governance and regulatory reforms, including the Fast Track Punjab single-window system offering more than 173 government-to-business services.
"The HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) is expanding its operations in Bathinda by working on 2G technology. This initiative has immense potential to strengthen the biofuel sector while creating value from agricultural residue," the CM noted.
He further informed that the company is in the process of establishing 10 biogas plants across Punjab, of which five have already become operational....
