Chandigarh, Feb. 25 -- The Chandigarh administration has notified the schedule for the Houselisting Operations and Self-Enumeration under the upcoming census of India 2027 in the Union Territory. In pursuance of the notification issued by the office of the registrar general and census commissioner, India, Union ministry of home affairs vide S.O. 99(E) dated January 7, 2026, the same has been republished in the Extraordinary Gazette of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 8(iii) of the Census Rules, 1990 framed under the Census Act, 1948, the administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh has declared that self-enumeration will be conducted from April 16, 2026 to April 30, 2026; houselisting operations will be carried out from May 1, 2026 to May 30, 2026 across the UT.
