Chandigarh, Aug. 8 -- A convict lodged in Central Jail, Hoshiarpur escaped on Thursday while receiving treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER). Central Jail warden Pardeep Singh filed a complaint, alleging that prisoner Anil Kumar alias Gopi of Hoshaiarpur had been referred to PGIMER for medical issues. He was in jail for getting into a fight with another group in Hoshiarpur, where the FIR was registered. During his treatment, he escaped the hospital. A case under Section 262 (resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) of the Bhartiya NyayaSanhita was registered at the Sector 11 police station....
