Hawks soar, Captains command on Day 2
Chandigarh, Oct. 7 -- Hunting Hawks and Captain's 18 began their GB Realty Chandigarh Golf League 2026 campaigns with emphatic 5.5-1.5 wins over Tee Birds and Chandigarh Gladiators respectively at the Chandigarh Golf Club on Tuesday. The Swinging Samurai also began with a 4.5-2.5 win over Partee Panthers, while GB Legends and Moksha Royals played out a 3.5-3.5 draw.
The Hawks swept both singles matches against Tee Birds and followed it up with three wins and a half from the five pairs games. Arav Singh Dagar defeated Col SDS Bath 3&1, while Krishna Kaila edged Col AS Bajwa 1-up after Bajwa had levelled the contest on the 17th.
Shalini Sheoran and Kulvinder Singh won 5 & 4, while Kulwaran Singh and Rohit Singh Dagar prevailed 3 & 1. Vinay S Bhan and Gursimrat Singh Jawandha produced the biggest win of the tie, triumphing 7 & 5. Sukhdev Singh Sidhu and Col AS Sekhon halved their match. Tee Birds' only full point came from B Chandra Sekhar and Gurjeet Bhattal, who won 1-up.
Captains matched the Hawks' winning margin against Gladiators. HS Kang edged Ashray Gakhar 1-up after the match went into the final hole all square, while Kanwal SS Bajwa won 3&2 in the other singles.
RS Mann and Bhupinder Singh Mundh added a 3 & 2 win, followed by YS Bains and Pukhraj Singh Brar's 5 & 3 victory. Suneet Sehgal and Phulbagh Sodhi recorded a 6 & 5 win. Padamjit Sandhu and Saurabh Nagpal halved their game, while Col VP Singh and Col Avnish Sharma earned the Gladiators' only full point with a 6 & 4 victory.
GB Legends and Moksha Royals fought out the closest contest of the day. GB Legends won three pairs games, but Moksha Royals took the singles advantage. Swinging Samurai completed the day's other win over Partee Panthers. Capt GS Ghuman halved his match with Bhavkaran Singh, while Satinder Pal Singh defeated Adilbir Singh 2 & 1. Deshvir Singh and Hitesh Arora won 1-up, S K Sharma and Arun Gupta 6 & 4, and Capt M S Bedi and Amrinder Singh 3 & 2....
