Haryana registers 29% growthin state GST in first five months
Chandigarh, Sept. 3 -- The Haryana government on Wednesday said that during the first five months of the 2026-27 fiscal, it collected Rs.24,662 crore in state goods and service tax (SGST) as against Rs.19,174 crore during the previous fiscal's corresponding period, registering a 29% growth. An official spokesperson said this was higher than the 16% national growth rate.
The spokesperson said the state government in August 2026 generated revenue of Rs.4,982 crore from SGST (post-settlement), compared to Rs.4,119 crore in the corresponding month of the previous year. This represents a growth of 21%, higher than the national average growth rate of 13% for August 2026....
