CHANDIGARH, May 23 -- Haryana government on Friday launched disciplinary proceedings against five senior doctors for alleged negligence and lack of proper supervision in discharge of official duties. According to an official memo additional chief secretary (health) Sumita Misra has issued, the government has decided to initiate disciplinary action under Rule 7 of the Haryana Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 2016. The doctors against whom action has been initiated are Dr Jayant Ahuja, civil surgeon (Faridabad); Dr Ginni Lamba, PMO, civil hospital (Sonepat); Dr Surender Yadav, PMO, civil hospital (Rewari); Dr Gurjeet, SMO, civil hospital (Jhajjar); Dr TC Gidwal, SMO, SDCH Ballabgarh (Faridabad). The memo, addressed to the director general health services (DGHS), states that the disciplinary action is being initiated as the doctors did not discharge their official duties with respect to implementation, monitoring and maintenance of essential healthcare services infrastructure and programmes. The memo directs the DGHS to send the draft charge sheet against the "above mentioned delinquent officers" after vetting from the departmental DDA by May 25, 2026....
