Haryana Civic Body polls: Counting of votes today
Chandigarh, May 13 -- Haryana State Election Commission (HSEC) on Tuesday said that all arrangements have been completed for the counting of votes for the general and bye-elections to municipal bodies held in the state.
The counting of votes will begin at 8 am on May 13 at the designated counting centres, an official spokesperson said.
Only authorised persons will be allowed entry at the counting venues and to maintain law and order unnecessary gathering of people near the counting centres will not be allowed.
The commission has appealed to all candidates, election agents and supporters to cooperate with the administration in maintaining law and order during the counting process and not to pay attention to any rumours.
The municipal body elections were held on May 10 for Ambala, Panchkula and Sonepat municipal corporations, Rewari municipal council and the municipalities of Dharuhera, Sampla and Uklana. Out of the three municipal corporations (MCs) that went to polls, Sonepat recorded the lowest turnout of 48%. Ambala and Panchkula recorded voter turnouts of 54.3% and 53.4%, respectively....
