Chandigarh, July 5 -- A security guard at a petrol pump in Sector 38 West fired three rounds in the air on Thursday night following a violent altercation with two bike-borne men. According to police, the incident occurred around 10:30 pm when the two accused arrived at the pump after it had officially closed for the day and the staff was preparing to leave. An argument broke out, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation as the men began threatening the guard. In response to the threat, the guard fired three shots in the air using his licensed weapon, following which the accused fled the spot. The Maloya police have registered a case.
