Karnal, April 5 -- A former CRPF jawan was allegedly beaten to death by his neighbours in Panipat after he asked children not to play cricket in the streets, police said. The police identified the victim as Amit Kumar, 40, a resident of Bharti Colony in the town. Kumar had suffered partial paralysis, due to which he took premature retirement from service a few months ago. According to the police, Kumar's family members said that few children were playing cricket in the street when a ball hit him after which he asked the children not to play in the street. As the matter reached their parents, they first verbally abused Kumar and then turned violent. CCTV footage of the incident shows that a few individuals including women first slapped the former CRPF jawan, then knocked him to the ground and punched him twice in the chest. After the attack, he was admitted to a private hospital, where he died during treatment on Saturday. An FIR has been registered at Old Industrial police station....
