Shimla, May 1 -- Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said fundamental differences between the ideology of the Congress party and that of the Bharatiya Janata Party was highlighted by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at a training camp of the party in Kangra district on Thursday. Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, reached Kangra around 8am and left by 3pm and interacted with the party's district presidents of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Himachal. "Our service should not be driven only by political ambition but it also should be inspired by the genuine sentiments of the people. We must also follow Congress ideology of fulfilling people's aspirations," Gandhi told Congress district presidents from three states. Interacting with media at Kangra Airport, Sukhu said Gandhi briefed the district presidents on the specific systemic changes that he envisions for the organisational structure and apprised them about various challenges the party is likely to face in the future. Gandhi's visit is expected to infuse energy in the state party cadre which has been reconstituted after 16 months ahead of panchayat and urban local bodies polls in May this year and the assembly polls slated for the end of 2027.
