Mohali, Sept. 28 -- Two men were arrested for allegedly snatching a mobile phone from a computer engineering student near Aman Dhaba in Gharuan before fleeing on a motorcycle on Saturday night, police said. The complainant, Sunny, told police that he was walking along the slip road outside his paying guest accommodation with his friend Shubham Tiwari around 7 pm when two men on a red motorcycle approached them from the direction of Chandigarh University. The pillion rider snatched the phone from Sunny's hand before the duo sped towards Morinda. The students raised an alarm, alerting an assistant sub-inspector and a police patrol team nearby. The policemen joined the students in chasing the suspects and intercepted their motorcycle, bearing registration number PB875396, near a petrol pump in Mankheri along the highway. Police officials identified the driver as Karanveer, a resident of Morinda, and the pillion rider as Naveen Kumar, a resident of Ward number 9, Morinda. A search of Kumar led to the recovery of the stolen phone from his trouser pocket.
