Ferozepur man nabbed with2kg heroin
Ferozepur, Sept. 1 -- The Border Security Force (BSF) and Ferozepur police arrested an alleged drug trafficker after recovering 2.26 kg heroin near the India-Pakistan border.
The accused, identified as Sukhwinder Singh, is a resident of Kilche village, Ferozepur, said police. His alleged associate, identified as Rajveer, alias Tari, also a resident of Kilche village, managed to flee from the spot. Police teams are conducting raids to arrest him.
According to preliminary investigation, the heroin was allegedly procured from Pakistani smugglers and was intended to be supplied further in the Indian hinterland.
Ferozepur superintendent of police (Investigation) Manjit Singh said the duo was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act on the basis of a written report by Rajesh Kumar, assistant commandant, BSF Border Out Post, Kassoke.
Police are working to trace the accused's backward and forward linkages to identify other people involved in the alleged drug network.HTC...
