Female home guard booked for theft at Phagwara SP's house
Jalandhar, June 12 -- A female jawan of Punjab Home Guard has been booked for allegedly committing theft at the residence of Phagwara superintendent of police (SP) Madhvi Sharma, police said on Thursday.
The accused, Manjit Kaur, is facing charges under Section 308 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
As per the first information report (FIR) registered on the complaint of Sharma's mother, Manjit was posted at their residence and used to work there from 9 am to 5 pm.
On Wednesday, the complainant found valuables, including four gold chains, three rings and one pair of earrings, along with 200 Canadian dollars missing from her suitcase.
She accused Kaur of stealing the valuables.
SP Sharma was reluctant to comment on the case....
