Ex-speaker Gian Chand Gupta's grandson makes political debut
Panchkula, April 25 -- Former Haryana speaker Gian Chand Gupta's grandson, Parth Gupta, 21, who is making his political debut in these elections, is the youngest candidate to have come forward so far.
The minimum age forfighting civic body polls is 21.
Parth, who has filed his papers from Ward 6 of the civic body, will be turning 22 on May 1, nine days before poll day.
While the elections will take place on May 10, nominations will come to a close on Saturday.
Parth is an MBA student at SP Jain School of Global Management, Dubai. He is currently attending classes online due to the ongoing war situation.Former Panchkula MLA Gian Chand Gupta said his grandson has been actively involved in social service and politics.The family recently opened a free computer centre in Barwala, where around 50 children are being educated.He added that Parth had also actively campaigned for him during the 2024 Vidhan Sabha elections in both urban and rural areas.
The family traces its roots to freedom fighters. Gupta said Parth is carrying forward this legacy with a commitment to public service through politics. Parth had lost his father,Ashwani Gupta, 20 years ago in a road accident....
