Chandigarh/Mohali, May 22 -- Eight schools - seven in Chandigarh and one in Mohali - received bomb threat emails on Thursday, prompting an emergency evacuation of students and staff. The threats turned out to be a hoax as police officials later confirmed that no suspicious objects were recovered from any of the campuses. The email circulated to the institutions claimed that explosives would be detonated on school premises around 1 pm. Among the schools to receive the threat mails were Sacred Heart School, St John's School, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sant Kabir School - all in Sector 26, Chitkara International School, Sector 25, St Stephen's School, Sector 45, Delhi Public School, Sector 40, Chandigarh, and Strawberry Fields High School, New Chandigarh.
