Ferozepur, Aug. 9 -- : The Counter Intelligence (CI), Ferozepur, in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) busted a major with the arrest of two people and recovery of 30.2-kg heroin on Saturday. They were held near Chak Wala Khitcha village, about 8 km from Fazilka. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested accused have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh of Walle Shah Uttar village in Fazilka district, and Manpreet Singh of Nawan Hasta village, Fazilka. Police also seized a bike (PB-05-AS-9856) allegedly being used for smuggling activities. Gursewak Singh, AIG, Counter Intelligence, Ferozepur, said the operation was launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs. A case has been registered under Sections 21-C, 25 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the State Special Operation Cell, Fazilka. The police in a joint effort with the BSF recovered a drone carrying a Chinese-made pistol, two magazines and four live cartridges from a paddy field in Gahle Wala village near the international border. The authorities said the recovery was made when a police party was conducting patrol and checking in the area. While on patrol, a police team arrived at Chak Bajida village and received information that a drone had crashed in a paddy field belonging to Baldev Singh of Gahle Wala village. On search, a drone bearing the marking "MAVIC 4 PRO" was recovered. A .30-calibre Norinco pistol, stated to be made in China, along with two magazines and four live rounds, was also found with the drone.
