Mohali, Sept. 2 -- A mob allegedly surrounded a Khanna CIA team in Jujhar Nagar, Mohali while it was arresting an accused in a drug case and helped him escape, police said. The accused has been identified as Sanjay. Balongi police have booked 11 named accused, including two women, and one unidentified person in connection with the incident. According to police, the team had detained Sanjay when he raised an alarm and sought help from people nearby. Two women, Sapna and Dimple, allegedly gathered people and obstructed the police team. The crowd then surrounded the personnel and allegedly pelted the police vehicle with stones, damaging its front and rear windshields, bonnet and left tail light. Police have registered a case under sections related to obstructing a public servant, assault, wrongful restraint, and unlawful assembly of the Bharatiya Nayaya Sanhita. htc...
