Jalandhar, Aug. 22 -- A couple and their six-year-old daughter were killed after a car allegedly rammed into their scooter at Haripur village in Phillaur sub-division of Jalandhar district on Friday. The deceased, Vinay Kumar, 38, his wife, Suman, 35, and their daughter, Kavisha, were residents of Ludhiana. Police said the trio was returning back to Ludhiana after attending a religious fair in Nakodar. "As they reached near Haripur village around 8.30 am, a speeding Toyota Etios driver rammed his vehicle into their two-wheeler," said Phillaur SHO Balwinder Singh. The collision killed the mother-daughter duo on the spot, while Vinay succumbed to his injuries at the Phillaur civil hospital. Police said the car driver, Ravinder Singh, also sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
