Rudraprayag/haldwani, April 27 -- Superintendent of police Rudraprayag Niharika Tomar led a foot patrol from Kedarnath base camp to Gaurikund on Sunday, inspecting security and pilgrim management along the trek route as the Char Dham Yatra draws growing crowds.
Tomar covered key halts including Lincholi, Bheembali and Junglechatti. She checked police outposts, security protocols, traffic regulation and arrangements for devotee movement and safety.
The superintendent interacted with police personnel deployed along the route, reviewing arrangements and issuing instructions for improvements. She also sought feedback from pilgrims on facilities, safety and overall setup.
Tomar discussed operational logistics, route management and safety concerns with horse and mule operators. Based on feedback, she directed officials to streamline arrangements for better pilgrim facilities.
She instructed outpost commanders to prioritise pilgrim safety, ensure smooth movement, provide timely medical assistance and maintain a strong rapid response mechanism. Tomar also stressed effective crowd management and heightened surveillance at sensitive points.
In line with police headquarters directions, the superintendent has camped at Kedarnath Dham Temple for the past six days to monitor pilgrimage arrangements personally.
"The safety of every devotee visiting Kedarnath is our highest priority," Tomar said, adding that adequate police personnel have been deployed at major halts along the pilgrimage route to ensure a safe and smooth journey for pilgrims.
