Cops clueless in Batala double murder
Batala, April 29 -- A day after two persons were shot dead and one was injured at Bhoma village in Batala's Sri Hargobindpur subdivision, police were yet to find any clue, officials said on Tuesday. The victims were fired upon by unidentified persons late Monday night.
Deceased Kashmir Singh and Jugraj Singh, and the injured, identified as another man named Jugraj Singh, were on a walk when the incident took place.
The condition of the injured, who has been hospitalised, is said to be stable.
Ghuman station house officer (SHO) Harjinder Singh said, "We are trying to trace the killers. We have got no clue so far. The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. A thorough investigation is underway."
On Monday, senior superintendent of police Mehtab Singh said that no angle of extortion or any threat call had emerged during the preliminary investigation.
"CCTV footage in the area is being scanned. The culprits will be traced soon," he added....
