Congress, INLD protest new procurement rules in Hry
Karnal, April 3 -- Opposition parties on Thursday staged separate protests against the newly introduced rules for the ongoing wheat procurement and other farmers' issues at the new grain market in Karnal. Members of the Youth Congress protested against the new rules and the India-US trade deal, alleging that both the issues will impact farmers in a huge way. Wing's state president Nishit Kataria said that the decision to make biometric of farmers and number plate on vehicles mandatory is done in a trial and tested manner, which will only hassle the peasants.
Similarly, the local leadership of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), led by district president Surjeet Singh Shamgarh, protested against the state government.
