Clear skies bring night temp down to 9.6degC
Chandigarh, March 22 -- The city's minimum temperature dropped by five notches after the sky cleared on the intervening night between Friday and Saturday following 18 mm rain in the day.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cloudy weather will continue in the coming days, along with a rise in the temperatures.
The minimum temperature fell from 14.8degC on Friday to 9.6degC on Saturday, the lowest since February 16, when it was at 9degC, and going a chilly 5.9 degrees below normal.
While the Western Disturbance (WD) that caused rain in the city has now passed, cloudy weather will continue before the arrival of two more WDs the next week. However, they are unlikely to be as intense as the first one, as per initial forecasts.
Meanwhile, as the sun made a comeback on Saturday, the maximum temperature climbed from 18.8degC on Friday to 25.1degC on Saturday. But it was still 3.8 degrees below normal. Over the next three days, the day temperature may hover between 26degC and 27degC, and the night temperature may also rise to 12degC-14degC....
