Chandigarh, June 5 -- The Haryana government on Thursday said that the number of documents needed for Change of Land Use (CLU) permission have been brought down from 19 to just three even as 70% of the state's geographical area does not require CLU permissions. Directing the departments to accelerate reforms aimed at reducing compliance burdens, improving ease of doing business and strengthening citizen-centric governance, the state government said that it is implementing new generation of regulatory reforms, including a proposed right to business framework, demand-driven land-use planning, rationalised fire safety norms, integrated healthcare approvals and a centralised digital repository of laws and government notifications. An official spokesperson said that special secretary (cabinet secretariat) KK Pathak and Haryana chief secretary Anurag Rastogi on Thursday held a review meeting and directed departments to accelerate these reforms while reviewing the implementation status of phase-I and phase-II of the compliance reduction and deregulation exercise. Commissioner and secretary (industries and commerce) Amit Kumar Agrawal said that nearly 70% of Haryana's geographical area does not require CLU permissions, providing greater flexibility to landowners and investors. Haryana is also working towards extending automated approval systems to additional categories. The state government said that the Haryana State Pollution Control Board has reduced approval timelines for consent to establish and consent to operate from 30 working days to 21 working days. Auto-renewal facilities have also been introduced for eligible industries, reducing procedural delays.
