Can't wait to see how the story unfolds: Mahima on Musafir Cafe Season 2
India, Oct. 7 -- The second season of Musafir Cafe, announced earlier this year, is now in pre-production, actor Mahima Makwana reveals in a tete-a-tete with us. The new season brings back the 27-year-old along with actors Vikrant Massey and Vedika Pinto as Preeti, Chander and Sudha, respectively. "I can't wait to see how the story unfolds with the core characters coming back once again."
Makwana and Massey had first met on the sets of Balika Vadhu when she was 10, though they did not share screen space on the TV show. They later worked together in Musafir Cafe nearly two decades later. On their equation, she says, "Vikrant is an incredible artiste and human. We have worked together earlier, so we shared common thoughts on so many things. The characters we play have evolved as humans, and to portray them well on screen, there has to be maturity in the bonding that actors share; I shared that with him."
Makwana began her career as a child artiste with Mohe Rang De in 2008 and has since moved from television to films and OTT. On whether the journey has become tougher, she says, "It's all about how one perceives things. As an individual grows, it becomes important to realise that the journey is supposed to be a roller coaster; whatever phases you live through, always know it's all transient. I enjoy whatever comes my way. It may have started from TV for me way back in 2008 as a child artiste, when we all were glued to television screens with limited content, to OTT with so much happening; it's all part of my journey."
On the insider-outsider debate, she says, "Let's not pay heed to it; we all know how the world functions. Look around, and you would realise that only a fraction of people working in our industry belong to a film background. And if anybody has an advantage, not using it would be foolish. My focus is to have blinkers on and keep moving."...
