Bizman's employee masterminds Rs.72-lakh robbery, held
Jalandhar, Aug. 23 -- Five days after a 58-year-old industrialist was attacked and robbed of Rs.72 lakh by car-borne men in Jalandhar, police have cracked the case with the arrest of his employee.
Aware of victim Lalit Mohan's movements and cash handling, the accused, Sunny Khosla, alias Mona, conspired with his relatives and friends to loot him, police said.
Along with Sunny, the Jalandhar commissionerate police have arrested six accused in all and recovered the robbed money. Giving details, commissioner of police Satinder Singh said the industrialist, who runs a foundry mill, alerted the police about being robbed on August 17 while returning home from his factory in a car.
"The complainant stated that while driving, a white car suddenly intercepted his vehicle. The car occupants smashed his vehicle's front windshield with a rod and snatched a bag containing around Rs.72 lakh in cash, before fleeing the spot," Singh said. He added that acting promptly, senior officials rushed to the spot and collected key evidence. "Preliminary probe pointed to an insider job. Based on leads, police zeroed in on Mohan's employee Sunny Khosla, who roped in five accomplices to execute the robbery," the police official said.
Sunny's accomplices were identified as Vikas and his brother Sunny, both residents of Pada village in Gurdaspur district; Sunny's relative Hardeep Singh, Rajvir Gill of Jalandhar and Ranjit Singh of Batala. HTC...
