Attendant assaults senior resident at PGI
Chandigarh, July 7 -- A senior resident doctor at the advanced trauma centre of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) was reportedly assaulted by a patient's attendant after being asked to wait for their turn.
The incident took place around 11.30 am. According to the senior resident doctor, the attendant grabbed him by the collar and twisted his arm, forcing the security guards to intervene.
Though a police complaint was initially lodged, the two parties later worked out a compromise after the attendant apologised. Medical superintendent Dr Ashok Kumar said the matter has been resolved.
He added that adequate security is in place at the trauma centre to prevent such incidents in future....
