At mayors' meet, MC to show best practices
Chandigarh, Oct. 5 -- In a first, the city is set to host the 118th All India Mayors' Conference, which will begin at Hotel Mountview, Sector 10, on Monday. Around 40 mayors from across the country are expected to participate in the event, which will conclude on Tuesday.
Chandigarh will showcase its best practices in planned urban development, cleanliness, green spaces, water management and digital governance, while also learning from innovativeinitiatives implemented by urban local bodies across the country.
Mayor Saurabh Joshi said the national-level conference is being held in Chandigarh for the first time and will provide a platform for mayors from different cities to discuss issues related to urban governance and civic administration.
According to the mayor, the conference will provide a national platform for elected representatives from urban local bodies to exchange successful initiatives, share experiences and deliberate on innovative approaches for strengthening urban governance.
