Karnal, May 28 -- Days after an Ambala-based pharmacy student allegedly shot dead three of his family members, the accused was arrested following an exchange of fire in the Naraingarh area on Tuesday, police said. The accused, Abhishek, 22, sustained bullet injuries in both legs during the shootout and was admitted at Ambala City civil hospital for treatment, the police said. Inspector Harjinder Singh, in-charge, CIA-1 staff, said that the accused allegedly opened fire at a police team and attempted to flee through agricultural fields near Paharipur village. "While fleeing after leaving his vehicle behind, he continued firing at the police team. He fired four rounds at the policemen. In retaliation, the CIA personnel also opened fire, injuring the accused. We have recovered an illegal pistol along with live and empty cartridges from his possession," he said.htc...
