AK-47, narcotics seized; 2 arrested
AMRITSAR, June 17 -- The Jammu and Kashmir police in a joint operation with the Punjab police on Tuesday arrested two suspects from a flat in Dream City Colony, Amritsar.
During the raid, they recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and nearly 500 grams of a suspected narcotic substance from the premises. Following the recovery, the area was cordoned off and a thorough investigation was launched.
The operation was carried out after the Jammu police received specific intelligence regarding a wanted individual.
Acting on the information, a police team travelled to Amritsar and conducted the raid with the assistance of the Punjab police.
The arrested accused have been identified as Surajdeep Singh of Sheikhpura, and Harpreet Singh of Devidaspura. Police have also seized vehicles belonging to both individuals.
DSP Yadvinder Singh said the action was based on intelligence inputs shared by the Jammu police. He added that both accused are currently being interrogated....
