Chandigarh, June 25 -- The UT administration is likely to meet Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday, during which it is expected to place a detailed set of city-specific administrative and planning-related proposals before the Centre, including key changes related to the Master Plan.
According to officials, one of the major points of discussion will be the amendment to Chandigarh's Master Plan, aimed at addressing evolving urban requirements, easing development norms, and resolving long-pending planning and regulatory bottlenecks affecting the city's growth. The administration is also likely to raise issues related to property regularisation in village abadis, extension of 'Lal Dora' limits, and conversion of leasehold to freehold for industrial and commercial units, which have remained pending for policy-level clarity.
Apart from planning matters, the administration is expected to brief Shah on ongoing projects related to public amenities, infrastructure augmentation....
