Adi Kailash route reopens after landslide, pilgrims resume journey
Pithoragarh/Mussoorie, Oct. 3 -- More than 350 pilgrims heading to Adi Kailash were stopped at the Dharchula base camp in Pithoragarh district on Friday after a heavy landslide blocked the road at Mangti nullah on the route to Gunji, officials said.

The landslide occurred on Thursday night, disrupting the movement of pilgrims towards the sacred Himalayan pilgrimage site.
Dhan Singh Bisht, camp in-charge of the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) base camp at Dharchula, said the road clearance has enabled the pilgrims stranded at the base camp to move towards Gunji.
The batches of pilgrims are expected to reach the Gunji camp by around 9 pm, Bisht said. The road had been blocked at Mangti nullah following a heavy landslide on Thursday night, forcing more than 350 pilgrims heading towards Adi Kailash to remain at the Dharchula base camp.
