Karnal, June 17 -- Ambala range inspector general (IG) Pankaj Nain on Tuesday said that a total of 95 drug traffickers have been arrested in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts of Ambala division under "Maidan 2.0". Apart from this, about Rs.11 lakh unaccounted cash was also recovered from the possession of the accused. The cops also seized three motorcycles and three cars. "To monitor the activities of drug traffickers, 194 CCTV cameras have been connected to surveillance systems in drug trafficking hotspots across various districts of the division. To curb the sale of banned and illegal drugs, 715 medical stores have been inspected so far under the drive, which has been underway since May 28, 2026," Nain said. During the period, Kurukshetra police demolished four illegal constructions/properties of drug traffickers. The inspector general said that 142 drug-affected individuals have also been provided treatment and counselling, while five individuals suffering from severe drug addiction have been hospitalised for better treatment and rehabilitation....
