Chandigarh, March 8 -- The municipal corporation (MC) carried out an anti-encroachment drive across multiple sectors of the city on Saturday. A team of officials seized three trucks in Sector 26 from which vendors were selling coconuts and watermelons, obstructing smooth movement of traffic, officials said. Near Kisan Bhawan, a cart of an ice-cream vendor was impounded. Overall, 53 challans were issued. The areas in Sector 34 Furniture Market and Sector 22 were cleared of encroachments.
