Bathinda, July 31 -- The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA)-2 team of the Bathinda police arrested a couple after recovering a cache of 3.10 lakh capsules of habit-forming pregabalin capsules from them. SP (investigation) Jasmeet Singh Sahiwal said the arrests came following a specific tip-off. The main accused, Satnam Singh, was arrested from Bibiwala chowk area on Wednesday with a large consignment of the capsules. During investigation, his wife, Ravinder, was also arrested. Their accomplice Sonu Maur was also nominated in the drug trafficking case. Natives of Sangrur, the accused couple was residing in Bathinda's Kamla Nehru Colony, said police. "Teams have been formed to identify the source of the contraband. Efforts are also underway to arrest the third accused," Sahiwal said. Pregabalin is a prescription medication for nerve pain, epilepsy and generalised anxiety, but is also misused by individuals with substance misuse disorders, said police.
