Jalandhar, Sept. 6 -- Three youths were killed after their motorcycle hit a truck parked on the roadside on the Jalandhar-Delhi national highway near Goraya on Saturday morning. The deceased, Jatinder Kumar, Sonu and Sahil Kumar, all in their 20s, were on their way to Jalandhar from Ludhiana when the accident took place in the wee hours of Saturday, police said. They hailed from Ludhiana and worked as labourers in a local factory. Investigating officer Bawa Singh said the impact of the collision was evident from the fact that the two-wheeler was wedged 10 feet under the truck, which was parked on the roadside after developing a mechanical snag. "The trio died on the spot. A crane was used to remove the truck and retrieve the bodies," Singh said, adding that the truck driver fled the scene.
