3 rly projects worth Rs.23K-cr get cabinet nod
New Delhi, May 6 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, approved three major Indian Railways projects worth Rs.23,437 crore, set to improve connectivity across six states.
These projects-Nagda-Mathura third and fourth lines, Guntakal-Wadi third and fourth lines, and Burhwal-Sitapur third and fourth lines-span 19 districts in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. "The increased line capacity will significantly enhance mobility, resulting in improved operational efficiency and service reliability for Indian Railways. These multi-tracking proposals are poised to streamline operations and alleviate congestion," the government said in a statement.
"The projects are planned on PM-Gati Shakti National master plan with focus on enhancing multi-modal connectivity and logistic efficiency through integrated planning and stakeholder consultations," it added. The initiatives will improve connectivity for 4,161 villages, benefiting about 8.3 million people....
