Bathinda, March 30 -- Three men riding a motorcycle on the wrong side of the Bathinda-Dabwali national highway were killed in a head-on collision with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) late Saturday night near Machhana village, police said. The deceased have been identified as Prem Singh, 23, Sharanpreet Singh, 22, both residents of Malwala village, and Vicky Singh, 25, from Gurusar Sainewala. Six occupants of the SUV, including three women, also suffered multiple injuries and are under treatment at a hospital in Sirsa. Investigating officer (IO) Kashmir Singh of Sangat police station said that the bikers were on the wrong side of the highway when the crash took place. "The trio had stopped at a petrol station on the side of the highway. After filling petrol, they started riding on the wrong side. It appears they could not spot the SUV and rammed into the vehicle head-on. All three were rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where they were declared brought dead," said the IO....
