3 Hry youths die as car falls off flyover in UP
Muzaffarnagar (UP), April 13 -- Three Haryana residents were killed on Sunday, while two others were severely injured, after the car they were travelling in broke through the railing of a flyover here and plunged into a ditch, officials said. The incident took place near a village on the Panipat-Khatima highway under Chapar police station limits when the group was on their way to Haridwar from Haryana's Gurugram, they added.
The deceased have been identified as Sagar, 24, Himanshu, 25, and Yash, 23.
The impact was severe, leaving the car mangled, police said.
Senior superintendent of police Sanjay Kumar said the five occupants were rushed to the district hospital, where the three were declared dead.
The two injured, Varun and Sushant, were referred to a higher centre due to their critical condition, he said, adding that investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the crash. PTI...
