290 Sikh pilgrims granted visas to visit Pak for Maharaja Ranjit Singh death anniv
Amritsar, June 20 -- The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Friday shared that 290 Sikh pilgrims had been granted visas to travel to Pakistan for Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary events.
Giving this information, Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, secretary of the Dharma Prachar Committee of the SGPC, said the Sikh jatha will leave for Pakistan through the Attari-Wagah border from the SGPC headquarters on the morning of June 21.
He said passports of 302 pilgrims had been submitted for visas to attend the commemorative event at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore and visit other Sikh shrines in Pakistan. Out of these, 290 pilgrims were granted visas by the Pakistani Embassy in Delhi.
He said after visiting various Sikh shrines, the group will participate in Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary events on June 29 and return to India on June 30. He requested the pilgrims to collect their visa-stamped passports from the SGPC office on June 20, 21.htc...
