Chandigarh, Sept. 6 -- Mayor Saurabh Joshi on Saturday kickstarted the reconstruction of 29 rear service lanes across Sectors 16-A, 16-B, 16-C, and 16-D, fulfilling a long-standing demand of local residents. The Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, will undertake the project at an estimated cost of Rs.83.8 lakh, with the work scheduled to be completed within six months. Joshi said development should be measured by results visible in people's everyday lives rather than announcements. He said every lane and neighbourhood mattered and assured residents that genuine civic issues would be addressed on priority. He directed officials to ensure quality workmanship and completion within the stipulated six months, while taking steps to minimise inconvenience to residents during the construction.
