Karnal, June 25 -- Days after an 81-year-old retired superintendent engineer (SE), Jagdish Bansal, was found dead at his residence in Yamunanagar, the local police have arrested two men from Karnal for the alleged murder. The accused, Ajay Kumar and Ankit Kumar, are both residents of Gheer village of Karnal district. They were presented before a court and sent to five days of remand, a police spokesperson said. Yamunanagar additional superintendent of police (ASP) Ashish Chaudhary said that on June 19, Bansal was found dead in Jathlana village after which a joint team from CIA-1 and CIA-1 have made the arrest. "The accused scaled the wall to enter his house with the intent to commit theft; when the deceased resisted, they killed him using sharp-edged weapons and an iron rod. Six criminal cases involving robbery and theft are registered against Ajay Kumar, while four such cases are registered against Ankit; these cases are currently pending in court," he added. Bansal, who retired from the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited, had been living alone since the death of his wife Rekha Bansal several years ago, while his son stays with his family in Zirakpur town of Mohali district....
