Chandigarh, May 19 -- Nearly two days after an unknown person had thrown a one-year-old stray puppy into the Tandoor of a Dhaba near Phase 2, Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26. Police have now arrested the accused. According to police, the accused Neeraj, 25, of BDC was arrested on Monday. He was arrested on inputs from local informants however the motive behind committing this crime wasn't clear, police said. Sanjay, a resident of Bapu Dham Colony, had noticed the man walking with a puppy in his hands near Nurani Dhaba at 1.40 am on Saturday. He threw the animal, appearing to be around one-year-old, into the tandoor and ran away. Sanjay tried to save it, but to no avail. He buried it near Sukhna Choe and informed the police. A case was registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Section 325 (mischief by killing or maiming animal) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Sector 26 police station on Sunday....
