14k applications received for Class 11 admissions in UT
Chandigarh, June 28 -- As online registrations for Class 11 admissions in Chandigarh's government senior secondary schools closed on Saturday, the UT education department received a total of 14,252 applications across streams, with humanities emerging as the most sought-after with 8,464 applications, followed by commerce (2,361), science non-medical (2,127) and science medical (1,300).
The figures are provisional, with data cleaning pending after the grievance redressal process.
The admissions come in a year when the UT administration expanded skill elective courses to all 42 government senior secondary schools-up from 23 last session, offering students a basket of 30 skill subjects ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) to healthcare and hospitality alongside their regular curriculum.
