12 kept as bonded labour rescued from UP factory
Meerut, June 25 -- A coordinated police raid in Mandi village, Muzaffarnagar, rescued 12 bonded labourers from a disposable leaf bowl and paper plate factory and led to two arrests, after investigators uncovered a regime of systemic torture and suspected custodial deaths.
The operation followed the escape of Vikram, a worker from Jodhpur who scaled the factory walls and reached Titawi police station with accounts of confinement and assault.
